Pekoe Most Poison by Laura Childs

Pekoe Most Poison by Laura Childs
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Rating: 4'5/5

Theodosia Browning has a tea shop and a good nose to solve mysteries, that's why Doreen Briggs asks her to investigate the curious murder of her husband in a tea party. Theodosia will investigate it, but I am not sure the answers will be the ones Doreen was searching! ;)

"'Welcome,' the rat said to them as he placed one white-gloved hand (paw?) behind his back and bowed deeply.
At which point Theodosia arched her carefully waxed brows and said, as a not-so-subtle aside to Drayton, 'When the invitation specified a 'Charleston rat tea,' they weren't just whistling Dixie.'"

This is a fun book, with quick dialogues and humor notes. This book was like watching a chapter of "A Murder She Wrote" but based on a tea shop, I loved it!
I have to say I like how Laura Childs has created a neighborhood with trusty people that can be so real that you can almost touch them. And let me say that the delicious dishes they serve in the tea shop will make your mouth watering... everything is so tasty!
This is quite a mystery, someone murdered a man in a Rat event... yes, with tails and ears included, and with no less than poison! But who did it? There are so many suspects that maybe this was a conspiracy!
Theo will have to discover the truth if she wants to help her tea sommelier Drayton Conneley to have the little funding for his Heritage Society... and Theo will have a little help of a charming detective... I hope we will see a few sparks between them in the next books, they would make a nice couple... ;)
This is the 18th book of the Tea Shop Mystery series, but it has the spark and the charm like the very first one. If you love tea and a good mystery this book is for you!
Ready for a tea party?

I have the pleasure to share with you one of the delicious recipes that Theo delights her customers with, enjoy! ;)
